Concert Review
A sizable crowd was treated to a vast array of music for Epiphany by Christ Church's Assistant Organist, Adrian Foster. Many of the works were by contemporary french masters: Tournemire, Messiaen & Langlais, but the programme also featured works by Helmut Walcha and Ned Rorem. Adrian had this organ sounding its absolute best by carefully choosing sounds and adjusting articulations to achieve astounding clarity and weight in his performance — something the acoustics of Christ Church greatly demand from the organist. With audience members coming as far as from Atlanta and even New Zealand, this celebration of Epiphany music was greatly enjoyed by all. Truly; a wonderful selection, interpretation, and execution of all the music. Bravo for such an enthralling performance of Rorem's Ocean of Light !
