Concert Review
Thank you to Chad Heltzel and his septet of fine musicians for a riveting performance of Igor Stravinsky's concert suite version of L'Histoire du Soldat at last Saturday's L'Oasis Musicale's concert. The musicians fully captured the quirky spirit of Stravinsky's score as they took the audience on a journey with Joseph the Russian soldier and his fateful encounter with the devil. The instrumentalists (Tim Yung, clarinet; Katerine Rousseau, bassoon; Etienne Massicotte, cornet; Matthew Russell, trombone: Bryn Lutek, percussion; Katherine Dennis, violin and Joel Kerr, bass) excelled both in their frequent solos and also their ensemble playing and the performance was led with great sensitivity and musicanship by director Chad Heltzel. Thank you all!

Concert Review

On Saturday the 5th Jana Stuart presented her concert for 120 music lovers. Her music from films arranged for solo piano was presented with amazing clarity of musical vision and passion, she made the music dance before our eyes. The public was very appreciative of hearing this music in a concert format, and clamored for more from her as she presented two encores to standing ovations.
