Arias and Barcarolles, completed in 1988, is Bernstein’s last major work. The humorous and personal song cycle about love and marriage was written for voice and piano (four hands). Other selections from opera and musical theatre will complete the programme.

Arias et Barcarolles (1988), dernière œuvre majeure de Bernstein, écrite pour voix et piano (à quatre mains), est une réflexion humoristique et personnelle sur l'amour et le mariage. D'autres sélections d’opéra et de théâtre musical complèteront le programme.

This concert will transport you back in time to the St Petersburg Theatre to see the recent productions by Kornakov, Slonimsky, and Schmitz, combined with some scenes from the opera Carmen. Piano, percussion, and polka dance with evil rats!
