L'Oasis Musicale would like to say a huge thank you to Patrick Wedd for his wonderful organ recital last Saturday. For his large and appreciative audience, Patrick selected a repertoire featuring a wide range of styles and moods: from the dense, contrapuntal fugue-writing of JS Bach's 'Dorian' Toccata and Fugue; through the whimsical Toccatina for Flutes by Pietro Yon; to the jubilant and uplifting Carillon de Westminster by Vierne. Patrick Wedd is one of the leading organists of his generation, and has presented cycles of the complete organ works of Olivier Messiaen and Jehan Alain.
