La découverte dans les archives du metteur en scène, auteur et homo universalis Nikolai Fol de quatre fables dont le commentaire social reste très contemporain, a inspiré la réalisation de Fables, un produit culturel, parrainé par un consortium de commanditaires canadiens et bulgares. Fables incorpore un livre bilingue illustré des quatre fables, un disque audio où les quatre fables de Nikolai Fol, mises en musique par la petite-fille de Nikolai Fol, Alexandra Fol, présentées dans le contexte d’autres grandes œuvres rarement interprétées pour baryton et accompagnement, et un disque de données contenant le facsimiles des fables et un PDF de la partition.

 Ce concert est le quatrième de la tournée internationale de Jean-Pierre Couturier et Alexandra Fol, qui emmène les artistes en France, Bulgarie, Canada et les États-Unis.

The discovery in the archives of stage director, author, homo universalis Nikolai Fol of four fables the contents of which remain very relevant today, inspired the realization of Fables, a cultural product sponsored by a consortium of Canadian and Bulgarian commissioners. Fables includes an illustrated bilingual book of the four fables, an audio disc presenting the four fables set to music by Nikolai Fol’s granddaughter, Alexandra Fol and presented in the context of other large and rarely interpreted works for baritone and accompaniment, and a data disc containing a facsimile of the fables and a PDF of the score.

This concert is a fourth of Jean-Pierre Couturier’s and Alexandra Fol’s international tour, which brings the artists to France, Bulgaria, Canada, and the United States.
